Villa Polli, which grips the mountainside shores of Lake Como and is steeped in nostalgia, has been in the family for over 75 years, providing a country escape for four generations. When the property was recently passed down to our longtime New York client and her Europe-based brother, we were thrilled to be tasked with reimagining their family home. It didn’t take any convincing to get us on board. The compound has postcard views, lush landscaping (complete with a waterfall), and great bones. Still, after many years of incongruous renovations, it was time to peel back the layers and breathe new life into the property. Our team jumped in to create a home deeply inspired by the past, but firmly rooted in the present. We researched the Villa's history and the original details, studied the vast collection of art and antique furniture, and worked with local artisans to inject a touch of whimsy appropriate for a young family. Partnering with local architect Riccardo Sandias, Parks Art Advisory, and Petazzi Costruzioni, the project was executed with the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Villa Polli is now ready for the next generations to gather for years to come.
